The Faculty of Technology and Metallurgy, University of Belgrade, has an integrated, multidisciplinary program that provides a scientific education for individuals interested in focusing on chemical technology and materials science and engineering. The faculty performs research and education programs that balance fundamental investigations with practical applications of the physical, chemical, and biological processes.

 

List of 5 selected ongoing international projects of the FTM UB members:

  1. FP7-Regpot 1 NANOTECH FTM, 2010-2012, establishing NANOTECHNOLOGY and FUNCTIONAL MATERIALS CENTRE at the FTM UB. Besides networking partners from well renowned EU scientific institutions, the project members interact with scientific and industrial institutions from EU Convergence regions and Western Balkan Countries. Established communication links and visibility of the Centre’s activities to stakeholders could promote the efforts and instruments envisaged by the GENIS LAB to the broader region thus increasing the impact of the proposed project.

  3. EUREKA Project E!4040 – MEC-REC: Assessment of Mechanical Recycling Technologies for Plastics, (2007-2010).

Activities in the “gender and research” field

The Faculty has included Gender Equality Issues as a long-term staff hiring policy, which lead to the fact that the gender issue is respected in the institution with the main statistical data:

  • Percentage of female staff in the overall staff (Full professors: 43%; Associate profs: 50%;
  • Assistant profs: 68%; Teaching assistants and other teaching staff: 62%; Researcher staff: 70%).
